About Anya
I am a final year PhD student in the history of art, with excellent knowledge of and passion for this subject. Prior to pursuing my PhD I completed a BA (first class honours) and an MA (distinction) in art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art. AIongside my studies I have taught at BA and MA levels at the Courtauld Institute of Art, and worked as a Curator and Editor. I believe that being able to understand and analyse the visual culture around us is an invaluable skill for living in the image-laden environment of the 21st century, and the skills acquired in learning about art will arm you with a capacity to understand and analyse culture and society more broadly. I have a passion for teaching the importance of this subject to students at all levels, and a commitment to making complex concepts easy to understand and use in your written work. Having been through the university system in the UK, I believe that sadly students do not receive enough support in their transition into the academic environment, as well as between its different levels. In my work as a tutor I will do my best to fill this gap and provide you with the skills required to succeed in your academic career.
