About Alexandra
Despite being often labelled as boring and useless, History has continuously revealed its depth as a subject, as well as its relevance to the state of our world today. The subject of History has consistently inspired my curiosity, from the constant "Why?" I asked as a child (at the irritation of my parents), to the unpicking of my understanding of the world around me at University level study of the subject. One of my personal interests in History is Gender History, exemplified in my EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) in Year 12 which focused on Women in Politics in Tudor England. I also love all things social and political History, with a range of knowledge and experience in Medieval World History to 21st century British History.
The critical thinking which is developed as you study History is crucial to the way we approach situations in our past, and our world today; I believe that we need this skill now more than ever, and I am passionate for playing a part in helping that grow and blossom in the young minds that will follow in our footsteps. As a child of two immigrants, History helps me understand the gruelling past which has provided me with the immense privileges I have today, and it would be my highest privilege to share my knowledge and experience with my students!
