About Muhsin

My name is Muhsin and I am a current undergraduate at King's College London. I have been tutoring for a while now ever since I finished my A Levels so I'd like to say I have experience in tutoring. The reason why I started tutoring was mainly to be able to help students through the rigorous education system as I know how hard the new syllabus for maths can be having been part of the first ever year to go through the new GCSE 1-9 system. Therefore, my main aim is to help students with maths as I know it could be a difficult subject to many who have difficulties trying to understand the topics and so my aim is to convey and explain maths as simply and easily as possible!

About the lesson

The approach to the way I teach is simple but effective.

Regarding maths, a typical lesson would first start off with introducing the topic at hand which we would be learning today. This would include what the topic is, understanding the topic and why it is important, and how to tackle typical questions. The student would then be given practice questions which they would be completing under my watch and if they come across any difficulty I will be readily available to help them. The student will be given homework only if I see that they need extra practice with the topic or if the student themselves ask for extra questions to do at home. Regarding GCSE and A Level, topics would be studied in accordance with what needs to be known for their exams and everything would be guided towards preparing for the final exam. The students would also be given practice mock exam papers throughout their learning period so we can track their progress and know what needs to be worked on further so we can ensure great exam success.

A typical lesson would be 1-2 hours a week depending on student availability and how much help the student/parent thinks they need. However, I am open to more hours of teaching for the student if the students/parent would want that.

I started tutoring after I finished my A levels and I now have more than a years worth of experience in tutoring Maths at all levels up till and including A Level. I have achieved 3 A*s in my A Levels including an A* in A Level maths and I also have an A* on GCSE maths.

My lessons cater for children from year 3 and above all the way till A level and for students who need extra help in Maths, need to brush up and maintain their maths knowledge, or need to prepare for exams which they have coming up.
