About Riley
UCLA Poli Sci Tutor | AP Gov & SAT Prep
Hi! My name is Riley, and I am a Political Science and Public Affairs double major at UCLA. I have a strong academic background in government, history, and civic institutions, and I want to help students feel confident navigating subjects that can feel overwhelming or abstract.
At UCLA, I am actively involved in campus organizations, including the Basic Needs Center, where I work closely with students and understand the importance of clear communication, organization, and individualized support. These experiences shape my tutoring approach: patient, structured, and responsive to each student’s learning style.
I offer discussion-based tutoring in English, U.S. History, Civics, AP Government, AP European History, AP United States history, and the SAT Writing and Reading preparation. I offer some in-person lessons depending on location, but as a student, mostly offer online tutoring. I focus on helping students master content, improve test-taking strategies, and develop strong analytical and writing skills on the SAT and in their classes. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to feel more confident engaging with history, literature and government in meaningful ways.
