About Teyana
Growing up I was always the kid that was afraid to ask questions or seek help when I obviously needed it. Out of fear of appearing unintelligent or being pushed too hard. The older I became I realized that fear was all in my head and that I should not be afraid to ask for help. As I was holding myself back from learning and growing. Now after earning my culinary certificate, bachelors degree, and up next my masters degree. I see value in seeking input from others and recognizing your own limitations. It shows we all have what it takes to succeed and be vulnerable to expressing our weak areas. Being able to work in different environments with people that have different levels of education. Has boosted my confidence and knowledge within different areas of study.

We all have different learning styles and that is okay. As a tutor my job is be aware of your learning style and create a safe space for you as the student to learn and feel safe to ask questions. In order for you to thrive and feel confident in your abilities. We will start out by determining your learning style, address your areas of concerns, then work through these areas piece by piece. I am big on positive praise so you will always feel the energy of me being your supporter and tutor. We will work on additional assignments to provide extra preparation as needed. The material used will always be relatable to the child and tutor. As I believe utilizing material we can connect with is how the learning becomes natural and makes an impact as opposed to studying just to pass the class or test.
