About Julie
My career has been dedicated to teaching reading to children and coaching both teachers and parents in successful literacy strategies—I am now specializing in working with students of all ages, including Spanish ESL students, and adult learners.
I am a retired, California-credentialed public school teacher and authorized Reading Specialist with over 30 years of classroom and leadership experience. This includes a decade of directing and teaching district-wide reading intervention programs and advanced diagnostic assessments.
I have trained in advanced literacy through the University of San Diego and am explicitly certified in the Science of Reading through intensive LETRS training and the state of California.
I am offering unmatched, data-driven reading instruction for both children and adults.

Our journey begins by getting to know each reader and their unique skill level using simple, stress-free assessments to find out exactly where you or your loved one needs support. Then, using the highly successful, structured University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) program and other curated resources, we take a clear, step-by-step approach to master reading using the five core foundations of reading. Each lesson lasts 30 to 45 minutes. The pace is tailored entirely to the learner, and full access to practice materials is provided between sessions.
Because long-term success thrives on collaboration, my program fully integrates coaching parents and family members on how to reinforce these skills at home. Cultivating reading confidence in both Spanish and English-speaking learners is my specialty. Adults are also welcome.
