About Azra

Hi! I'm Azra, and I believe that writing is the most powerful tool a student can have. I am currently a 17-year-old straight A student with a 3.857 GPA, and I've spent my high school career mastering the balance between creativity and academic discipline.

My love for language goes beyond the classroom; I wrote and am in the process of publishing my first book. This project has taught me the importance of perseverance, detailed editing, and clear communication—skills I am eager to pass on to my students.

Why I do what I do:
I am a big believer in "dreaming big and planning well." My current goal is to move to South Korea in the fall of 2027 to pursue a degree in Fashion Design. This dream requires me to maintain high academic standards and a strong work ethic, and I bring that same level of dedication to every tutoring session.

I am not just here to help with homework; I'm here to show elementary and middle schoolers that with the right habits and a little bit of creativity, they can achieve their biggest goals—whether that's an "A" on a book report or writing a novel of their own!

About the lesson

Who These Lessons Are For:
Elementary Students (grades 1-5): Building a love for reading, mastering spelling, and learning basic sentence structure.
Middle Schoolers (grade 6-8): Developing strong five-paragraph essays, understanding complex grammar, and analyzing literature.
Aspiring young writers: Students who want to go beyond schoolwork to explore creative storytelling.

Teaching Methods & Techniques:
The "Scaffolded" Approach: I break large essays into tiny, manageable "sketches" (much like a fashion line!) so students don't feel overwhelmed.
Visual Brainstorming: Using mind maps and mood boards to help students visualize their stories or arguments before they write a single word
The "Read-Aloud' Edit: We read work together over FaceTime to catch flow issues and grammatical errors by ear.

Typical 60-Minute Lesson Plan:
The warm-up (10 min): A quick creative writing prompt or "word of the day" challenge to get the brain moving
The Deep Dive (30 min): Focusing on the primary goal—whether that's a school essay, a grammar worksheet, or a book report.
Refinement (15 min): Real-time editing and feedback on the work produced during the session.
The "Look Ahead" (5 min): Assigning a small, fun task for the week and summarizing what we achieved.

Format: FaceTime or Phone Call preferred, in person available if local
Availability: Most afternoons (except work shifts) and during the weekend.
