About Angelica
My goal is to make sure my student doesn't feel shame in asking any kind of questions. When this happens, it makes them feel safe to gather more information and knowledge without the fear of being ridiculed. I will ensure the lessons feel like a conversation, not a typical, boring lecture. For assurance, I am a persistent honor student from Kindergarten to Highschool who excels specially in English.

As a tutor, my goal is to make English easy to understand, intriguing, and useful in real life scenarios. I prioritze on helping students improve their grammar, reading, and communication skills while they build confidence through the lessons.
I use a student-centered approach, I shall adjust my teaching based on the student’s preferred level and learning style. I combine:
• Simple explanations for grammar and concepts
• Guided practice (exercises, short activities)
• Real-life examples to make lessons relatable
• Encouragement and patience to build confidence
• Use characters from their interests as an example to make them more engaged
• Visually appealing presentations to visual learners
My typical lesson plan will consist of:
• Warm-up for about 5–10 minutes to do a quick review of what they've learned and a bit of casual conversation to break the ice
• Lesson Proper for 20–30 minutes.
I teach a specific topic (grammar, translation, reading, or writing)
• Then we do Practice Exercises for 15-20 minutes, such as: sentence-making, quiz, or guided activities
• For the remaining 5–10 minutes, it is time for Feedback and Wrap-up where they may give me corrections, tips, and suggestions on how I can make it easier and more engaging for them; and after that, they are to give a summary of what was learned
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I am patient and understanding. I do not mind whether the student is a fast or slow learner. I also explain topics in a simple, yet clear way in which they can catch up to quickly. In addition, I create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where they can freely make mistakes and learn from it. As a student myself, I very much understand the difficulties learners face; like not being able to ask a question to a teacher due to the fear of being shamed. And to be frank, I know it will be much better if the lessons mention content (games, series, movies, etc.) that the student loves in order to make them feel included, excited, and interested.
Now, my lessons are mostly for Pilipino Junior Highschool students who need help in:
• Grammar
• Reading comprehension
• Writing and sentence construction
• Filipino to English translation
