About Lacey
I am a violin teacher with 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. I have taught over 200 students from young beginners to advanced examination candidates. My teaching covers bowing technique, vibrato, intonation, phrasing, and musical expression across classical and contemporary repertoire. I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity examinations and offer orchestral preparation. My approach is warm, structured, and always adapted to each student's individual learning pace and musical goals. Let me help you build a strong violin technique and genuine love of music.

My violin lessons follow a structured progression developing technique, musical understanding, and performance confidence together in every session. Every lesson begins with posture checks, bow hold review, and a warm-up covering scales and bowing exercises to prepare body and mind for productive practice. Bow control and tone production receive strong focus from the earliest stages as they most directly impact sound quality and expression. Intonation develops through scale work, careful listening, and tuning technology feedback. Exam students follow required syllabi closely with regular mock assessments and detailed feedback on all components. Advanced students work on vibrato, shifting, double stopping, and developing expressive interpretative depth. Backing tracks develop rhythm awareness and ensemble sensitivity throughout. Sight-reading and ensemble skills are provided for students joining orchestras. Clear specific feedback after every run-through gives students actionable improvement goals. My commitment is for every student to develop a confident technique and lasting love of violin.
