About Amaya
I’m a Dentistry student with a strong passion for Maths and Chemistry. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed effective study techniques and a deep understanding of both subjects, which I now enjoy sharing with others.
I want to teach because I know that the right guidance can make a huge difference to a student’s confidence and performance. Having recently completed GCSEs and advanced-level study myself, I understand the challenges students face and can explain difficult concepts in a clear, relatable way.
My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I focus not only on improving grades but also on helping students develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and a genuine understanding of the subject. Whether you’re aiming to pass, improve your results, or achieve top grades, I am committed to helping you reach your full potential.

My tutoring approach is focused on building understanding, confidence, and exam technique. I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, breaking down complex Maths and Chemistry concepts into simple, manageable steps. I encourage active learning through worked examples, guided practice, and regular questioning to ensure students fully understand each topic before moving on.
Lessons are typically 2 hours long and are structured as follows:
* 60 minutes of focused teaching and guided learning on key topics.
* 30 minutes of exam-style questions and problem-solving practice.
* 30 minutes of testing and review to assess understanding, identify gaps, and reinforce learning.
As a current Dentistry student, I have a strong academic background in both Maths and Chemistry and understand the study techniques required to succeed in demanding subjects. My recent experience with exams allows me to provide relevant tips and effective revision strategies.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE students of all abilities, whether they need support with core concepts, want to improve their confidence, or are striving for top grades in their exams.
