About Mae
I am a Chemistry tutor with 8+ years of experience and a Master’s degree in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry. My teaching takes a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, especially in forensic chemistry. I focus on drug analysis, toxicology, and crime scene investigation techniques to provide students with practical and relevant knowledge. I incorporate simulated case files into lessons to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences. This approach helps students understand the principles behind analytical instrumentation and how these tools are applied in real forensic investigations. I also emphasise the ethical responsibilities that come with working in this field. I enjoy working with students who are passionate about forensic science careers or law enforcement. Together, we explore how chemistry can be used to solve crimes and uncover hidden truths. My goal is to make complex concepts accessible and exciting. By connecting theory with practical applications, I help students build confidence and skills they can use in their future careers. I believe chemistry has the power to solve mysteries and contribute to justice. Let’s work together to unlock this potential and make learning forensic chemistry an inspiring journey.

My teaching approach centres on active visualisation and building a strong conceptual understanding of chemistry. I focus on key topics such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, molecular geometry, and periodic table trends. By using diagrams, models, and interactive tools, I help students see how these concepts connect and work in real life. I believe that understanding the “why” behind the facts is just as important as knowing the facts themselves. This helps students apply their knowledge with confidence and solve problems more easily. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace and learning style to ensure they fully grasp the fundamentals. Whether you dream of becoming a doctor or have a deep love for nature, I provide dedicated support to help you excel. Together, we’ll break down complex ideas into clear and simple steps. You’ll master the building blocks of matter with clarity and confidence. My goal is to make chemistry exciting and accessible, so you feel motivated every step of the way. With patience and encouragement, I’m here to guide you towards success in your studies and beyond.
