About Kiara
Hi! I’m a passionate and experienced 6th grade ELA teacher who specializes in helping students grow in reading, writing, and confidence.
I work with students in grades K–8 and focus on making learning engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child’s needs. Whether your student needs help with reading comprehension, writing essays, grammar, or test prep, I break concepts down in a way that actually makes sense.
I especially love working with:
• Struggling readers who need extra support
• Students who want to improve their writing
• Gifted learners who need to be challenged
• Students preparing for tests or assignments
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and interactive. I create safe spaces where students are motivated and eager to learn.
As a current educator, I stay aligned with curriculum standards and know exactly what students are expected to learn at each level.

My lessons are personalized, structured, and designed around each student’s individual needs and learning style.
I always start with a short pre-assessment so I can understand where the student is academically. This helps me see their strengths and the areas where they need more support. Before we really dive into academics, I also focus on building a strong relationship with the student so they feel comfortable, supported, and confident working with me.
After the pre-assessment, I create a clear learning plan that we follow during our sessions. This plan is customized for the student and helps us stay focused on specific goals so they can make steady progress.
To make sure students are growing, I give weekly or monthly check-ins and assessments. I also keep open communication with parents so you always know how your child is doing and what we are working on.
In sessions, I support students with homework, class assignments, test preparation, reading, writing, and grammar. I give step-by-step explanations, clear guidance, and immediate feedback so students understand not just the answer, but how to get there.
I also adjust my teaching style based on what works best for the student. That can include visual learning, auditory support, videos, or hands-on practice. My goal is to meet students where they are and help them build confidence, skills, and independence over time.
