About Chester
My philosophy on the work of teaching has always been that educators are at the service of their students, that teaching is a servant-leadership role. Learning doesn't have to be a stuffy exchange, and the best lessons are those that are engaging and allow the teacher and students to bring their authentic selves into a learning environment.
I am a seasoned, award-winning researcher that is beginning his foray into the work of teaching. I was intentional about earning my Ph.D. so that I could spend a substantial amount of time in the field making meaningful contributions to national discourse on urban education. I picked up a ton of technical skills and firsthand accounts from the world of research for practice, and now feel like I have a good amount of knowledge to share with the next generation of scholars and practitioners.

My goal is to make content relatable, which makes retention and application of concepts easier for students. I usually work with college and graduate school students, and specialize in teaching scripting/programming for data processing and analysis, foundations in strategic management and organizational leadership, quantitative research methods and social statistics, elements of urban sociology, concepts in urban policy and governance, and elements of K-12 education policy and practice.
