About Rylee

As a concert violinist with a Doctorate of Musical Arts and over 15 years of experience, my journey in music has been a blend of performance excellence and passionate teaching. Beginning with intensive classical training, I've had the privilege of performing on stages around the world, honing my skills in both traditional and contemporary violin techniques. This rich experience has not only shaped my musical prowess but also deepened my understanding of the diverse and evolving landscape of violin music.

My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a deep appreciation for music while equipping students with the technical proficiency needed for expressive playing. Whether instructing young beginners or mentoring advanced players, I prioritize a personalized approach that nurtures individual strengths and aspirations. Each student's journey is unique, and I tailor my instruction to their learning style, musical interests, and goals, whether preparing for performances, competitions, or simply enjoying the pleasure of playing.

Beyond technical instruction, I strive to inspire creativity and musicality in my students. I encourage exploration of diverse musical genres, from classical repertoire to popular music adaptations and fiddle tunes. Through innovative teaching methods, including improvisation, ensemble playing, and music theory exploration, I aim to cultivate well-rounded musicians who are confident in their abilities and passionate about their craft.

Continuous learning and professional growth are fundamental to my role as an educator. I actively pursue opportunities to expand my teaching skills and musical knowledge through workshops, masterclasses, and collaborations with fellow musicians. By staying current with industry trends and educational methodologies, I ensure that my students receive the highest quality of instruction and mentorship.

Ultimately, my goal is to instill a lifelong love for music in my students, empowering them to embrace the violin not only as an instrument of technical precision but also as a means of personal expression and artistic fulfillment. Through dedication, passion, and a commitment to excellence, I strive to guide each student towards realizing their full potential and achieving their musical dreams.

About the lesson

My violin lessons are designed to cater to students of all ages and skill levels, providing a comprehensive and enriching musical experience. With over 15 years of experience as a concert violinist and educator, I bring a deep understanding of both classical traditions and contemporary genres like pop, rock, country, and fiddle music. Each lesson is tailored to meet the individual goals and interests of the student, ensuring a personalized approach to learning.

The structure of my lessons emphasizes a balanced development of technical proficiency, musical expression, and theoretical understanding. We begin with fundamental techniques such as proper posture, bowing techniques, and intonation exercises. These foundational skills are essential for building a solid technical foundation that supports the student's musical journey.

As students progress, we explore a diverse repertoire that spans classical masterpieces to popular music genres. This variety not only keeps lessons engaging and enjoyable but also allows students to develop a broad musical palette and appreciation for different styles. Whether preparing for performances, auditions, or simply playing for personal enjoyment, I provide guidance in interpreting musical pieces with expression and authenticity.

Interactive and creative learning methods are integral to my teaching approach. I incorporate improvisation, ensemble playing, and music theory exercises to deepen students' understanding and appreciation of music. I also encourage students to explore their creativity and develop their unique musical voice, fostering a sense of confidence and independence in their playing.

Continuous assessment and feedback are essential components of my teaching methodology. I regularly assess students' progress through performance evaluations, technical assessments, and constructive feedback sessions. This ongoing dialogue allows me to tailor lessons to address specific strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring steady growth and achievement.

Above all, my goal is to inspire a lifelong passion for music and empower students to reach their full potential as violinists. Whether students aspire to pursue a career in music or simply enjoy playing as a hobby, my lessons are designed to nurture their talents, ignite their creativity, and cultivate a deep appreciation for the art of violin playing.
