About Eden
Math is part of a seven-year tutoring career during which I have worked with 320 students, from school pupils to adult learners wanting practical numeracy skills for work or daily life. My own approach is shaped by years of practical, hands-on experience, which taught me the value of applied, achievable goals over abstract academic theory. I am encouraging and down to earth, believing steady, visible progress works far better than an intimidating, overly technical curriculum for most learners. Many students arrive simply wanting clearer, more confident problem-solving skills, and I structure lessons around exactly that kind of practical, personally meaningful goal. Watching a student confidently solve a problem they once thought impossible remains one of the most satisfying parts of my teaching.

My mathematics lessons focus on practical, achievable progress from the very first session, ensuring students see visible improvement in their own problem solving within just a few lessons. Concepts are taught through repetition tied directly to real-world examples, since practicing within genuine context builds retention and confidence simultaneously. I keep explanations short and immediately followed by hands-on practice, since long verbal instruction tends to lose focus quickly. Specific, encouraging feedback follows every practice set, pointing to concrete improvements rather than overwhelming students with every possible correction. Every lesson ends with a short informal recap, checking the student genuinely understood the main idea before moving on.
