About Lori
Singing is part of a seven-year tutoring career during which I have worked with 315 students, from complete beginners to more experienced singers wanting practical performance skills. My own background includes years of informal performance experience, which shapes my practical, results-focused teaching style rather than a heavily theoretical one. I am encouraging and down to earth in my approach, believing steady, achievable progress works far better than an intimidating, overly technical curriculum for most learners. Many students arrive simply wanting to sing a handful of favorite songs well, and I structure lessons around exactly that kind of practical goal.

My singing lessons focus on practical, achievable progress from the very first session, ensuring students hear genuine improvement in their own voice within just a few lessons rather than working through abstract theory. Breathing and posture are taught through repetition tied directly to real songs, since practising within genuine musical context builds both retention and motivation simultaneously. I keep explanations short and immediately followed by hands on singing practice, since long verbal instruction tends to lose a student's focus quickly. Specific, encouraging feedback follows every practice attempt, pointing to concrete improvements rather than overwhelming students with every possible correction at once.
