About the lesson

A professional drummer/percussionist/music teacher and first class degree music graduate offers professional drum tuition to any level students.

I've been playing the drums more than a decade now and I have experience with bands which play original music, function bands, tribute bands, big bands, orchestras and small jazz ensembles.
I was in the cruise ship industry for about 7 years and built up a repertoire of over 450 tunes.

I'm also a full time teacher of all the drum kit grades of Trinity and RockSchool's books, so after completing a grade (learning three songs from a relevant grade book) pupils can go to an exam and get a certificate.

My dissertation in university was on most efficient ways of teaching music (Dalcroze, Kodaly, Suzuki methods). I did an extensive research, experienced some of the methods first hand and I’m pretty confident the performance I’m offering as a teacher would lead to results.

I also play the bass and the piano and believe that any sort of a melodic instrument can be really helpful for drummers to create better approach towards music.

I'm based in Harborne, Birmingham and I think it would be best to teach at pupil's home, as I don't have big enough space at home.

Fee is £30 per hour.

- Hand grip & posture, techniques, rhythm theory, chart reading and interpreting, active listening, concepts, inprovisation etc.
- Swing, Jazz, Blues, RnB, Fusion, Rock, Reggae, Hip hop
- Trinity College London Books - Initial to Grade 8
- Rock Schools Books - Debut to Grade 8
