About Sam
Hi, I’m Sam, a passionate musician and Grade 8 drummer currently studying Composition for Film. My musical background spans a wide range of styles — from classical to heavy metal — and I love bringing that versatility into my teaching. Alongside drumming, I’m the conductor of a symphony orchestra, have sung in a choir for two years, and have composed music for video games and orchestral performances. I also run my own recording studio and have performed in pit bands for theatre productions, giving me a strong understanding of both live and studio musicianship. As a tutor, I aim to create lessons that are engaging, adaptable, and motivating, tailored to each student’s goals and musical interests. Hi! I’m Sam — an 18-year-old Grade 8 drummer who’s passionate about helping others discover their rhythm and confidence behind the kit. I offer fun, engaging drum lessons tailored to each student, whether you’re picking up sticks for the first time or looking to refine your technique. My Approach: I focus on making learning enjoyable and practical — combining proper technique, timing, and musicality with songs and styles that students actually enjoy playing. Every lesson balances skill-building (like rudiments, coordination, and reading music) with creativity and groove. I aim to help students not just play drums, but feel music. Lesson Structure: Lessons typically run for 30 minutes and each session is structured to suit the student’s pace — I’m flexible and always make sure you leave feeling motivated and accomplished. Experience & Qualifications: As a Grade 8 certified drummer, I’ve played in a variety of settings — from school bands and live gigs to being a session musician — and I understand what it takes to develop both technical skill and musical confidence. Being close in age to many learners helps me connect easily, whether I’m teaching young kids, teens, or adults. Who It’s For: I teach all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to intermediate players looking to level up.
