About Kavhan Karthik
About Kavhan:
Kavhan has spent the last 10 years of his music career touring all over the world, from America to Europe, the Middle East and Asia, playing gigs to packed out crowds with his band Flamingods, as well as with a number of other artists. He's played main stages at some of the worlds biggest festivals such as Glastonbury, Bestival, End of the Road and more. He has also spent years honing his skills in the studio playing drums and percussion for a number of artists as well as his own projects.
He has been playing drums for around 20 years, as well as percussion including Bongos, Conga, South Indian Mridangam, Latin Drum Kit, West African Rhythms and Indian Rhythms. He spent his childhood growing up in many different countries creating a rich musical tapestry for him to draw inspiration from.
It is this experience that makes Kavhan's approach to teaching so unique.
As well as this, Kavhan has been producing music and DJing around the world for almost a decade too.

Learning with Kavhan:
Kavhan loves the challenge of teaching absolute beginners and getting them feeling confident and excited to make music, be it playing drums, percussion, and DJing.
As well as this, he enjoys teaching those more advanced musicians looking to get down to the nitty gritty of refining technique. Or young/old artists looking to build their confidence in playing on stage and unpacking and looking at what might be holding back their playing or confidence in certain areas of performance.
Having grown up surrounded by a plethora of different music, he is equipped to teach Rock, Metal, Jazz, Pop, Funk, Disco, Latin Percussion, West African Rhythms, and Fusion drumming - which also allows a more versatile look at creating and producing music in lessons too.
On the DJ side of things students can expect to learn how to mix a variety of styles, suited mainly to their personal tastes.
Students:
Lessons are tailored to a students needs, interests, and their attitudes and approach to learning. They will always get a strong understanding of the rudimentary elements of drumming, percussion or DJing and equip themselves with the skills to play independently, this may be done through studying simple popular songs, or methods that Kavhan feels will challenge and excite them.
