About Fatimah
I am Fatimah Abdul-Ghafur, a graduate of Thomas Edison State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English, specializing in writing composition and literary analysis. With over eight years of teaching experience in ELA, ESL, and structured literacy, I have developed a passion for helping struggling readers, particularly those with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. My approach is rooted in the Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham methodologies, utilizing a multi-sensory, differentiated strategy that fosters a supportive learning environment. I believe in building strong relationships with my students, tailoring lessons to their interests to keep them engaged and motivated. In my free time, I enjoy reading, journaling, volunteering at my local library, and exploring new languages like Arabic and Spanish. My ultimate goal is to empower all students to become confident, proficient readers and writers.
