About Xiaowei

Kia Ora every one, I am Xiaowei and I am a native Chinese speaker. I came to New Zealand six years ago and I settled in this country with my partner. I am currently working as a part-time early childhood teacher and during my spare time I help my friends' children with their Chinese. This wonderful experience inspired me to become a Chinese teacher. Chinese is a beautiful languag and with a long history. These years, many young people dress traditional Chinese clothes and our young generation are passionate about Chinese history, I am happy to see this and I would like to contribute to spread Chinese culture. So let's start out Chinese learning journey together!

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy is making individual planing for each student and help student to reach their full potential . If you are a beginner, we will start with Pinyin and how to pronounce Chinese characters with Pinyin. If you already have some knowledge about Chinese, we will have reading classes, writing classes or speaking classes. I will ask students's aspiration before classes and which part they want to improve as well. In addtion, it is important to share Chinese culture with students as this will help them build up knowledge more quickly.
