A lot of people struggle with English, especially English Literature. Who cares about a bunch of old novels? Feeling this way is normal, when you are in an environment where u feel inadequate because of the teaching methods, such as making you believe you have to love the novel and understand each word coherently. When in reality, I understand how a student will never like every novel they read and they do not have to understand every word they read on a page.
As a result, my teaching methods will be key part focused. Not only does this increases grades by actually focusing on what picks up maximum marks but it is quicker : it also minimizes the stress and hatred towards English literature, which can ultimately effect grades if less effort is contributed.
My ideas of thinking involving teaching, derive from psychological concepts as I study psychology A level as well as English Literature. This means I can understand how to thoroughly keep attention focused and how to consume information and retain it for longer, essential for exam preparation for any student. Also, being of my age of 16, I can better understand how the GCSE students learn and what particular areas require more time to then others as I have a greater understanding and depth of this age range.
