About Izzy

Currently studying Law at the University of Nottingham, and achieved four A* at A-Level. I am a dedicated and motivated tutor with a genuine passion for helping students succeed. Having experienced the difficulties of underperforming in Year 12, I know first-hand how frustrating it can feel to put in effort without seeing results. Discovering the right exam techniques and strategies transformed my own performance, enabling me to achieve A*A*in Politics and Business. I now want to share these insights with others, so that students can avoid the mistakes I made and instead approach their studies with clarity, confidence, and a clear path to achieving the top grades.

About the lesson

An ideal way to understand the subject, is to start with going through the content of a particular topic - and being able to ask any questions on things you do not understand. Following this, to prepare you directly for the exam, it is important to learn how the content fits into the essay structure which examiners are looking for. This is because content does not make up the majority of marks from your exam, and learning structure allows you to apply the knowledge that you have from a previous topic into an question which you may not understand as well, as this could occur when sitting a real politics exam. Therefore the key is to be prepared for anything that may come up. I find it most important to find a time efficient way to revise, and instead of sitting there for extended time periods learning pure facts, it is much more beneficial to be practicing paragraph formats for tutors to look over and mark. As a tutor, I would be happy to mark anything the student sends to me in the lesson time or not. Additionally, I have clear exam plans on every topic which I can send to the student for them to include in their own notes.
