About Harrison
I am a student at Georgia Tech majoring in electrical engineering. I have tutoring experience in both classroom and one-on-one settings. My tutoring journey started with me helping my brother with algebra homework and editing his English papers. Since then, I've gained years of experience, including teaching at Stemtree Education Center, where I taught science and engineering basics to elementary and middle schoolers. I am also a nationally ranked fencer, and I have experience coaching at my fencing club.

My high school and college experience has been filled with rigorous stem courses, so I’m very familiar with the common struggles students face in math and science, and I can always slow down to explain a concept more clearly if needed. I believe the key to truly mastering a subject lies in consistent practice and hands-on problem solving, rather than passive reading or memorization. That’s why I won't lecture during the session, and instead I like to focus on walking through lots of examples together and breaking problems down step by step.
I will usually assign problems to work on during your own time, and review at the beginning of the next session. You are also free to ask me questions about material or homework assigned to you from school. These first couple minutes of check-in determine what we'll go over for the rest of the session. I will guide you through a couple problems first, and then you will do some on your own with little help from me. I found that this approach has brought the most success for many students, including myself, but I am also open to adapting my teaching to individual needs.
