Although I'm new to tutoring professionally, I've acted as a tutor for friends, family and peers when they've asked for help with their studies. I also received tutoring when I was younger and have an understanding of how to structure sessions, what issues may arise, as well as how to create a productive environment.

I am a recent electronic engineering graduate living in York who is available to help students who want to improve their understanding of maths. I aim to do this by breaking down the problem solving process to help each student better understand how to approach every problem they may face. I like to spend the first five minutes of each session by giving the student warm up puzzles to get their brain going before having a conversation about what issues they want to work through during the session. We will then work through those issues as best we can at a pace that works for the student. I am a very patient and positive person and that is something that carries through in my teaching.
I achieved A*s in both GCSE and A Level Maths, as well as a 2:1 in my degree.
