About Jessica
I am an elementary educator with a bachelor's and master's degree in Elementary Education. I have been a classroom teacher for the past four years, and am currently my school's academic interventionist. I love working with students and seeing their love for reading and learning grow. My strengths include building strong relationships with students, using research to make fun, engaging lessons that students love, and communicating with all stakeholders to ensure the best possible educational plan for your child.

Using hands-on and engaging activities, I will help your child not only learn how to read, but hopefully fall in love with reading!
I have been a classroom teacher for the past four years and this is my first year as a reading interventionist at my school. As a reading interventionist, I pull small groups of students to work on basic reading skills so that they can reach grade level expectations in the classroom. All of my lessons are based in the science of reading research, and my current students enjoy working in my small groups so much that they ask for more material so that they can do the activities at home. I am kind, compassionate, and believe that building a relationship with a student will also help them learn.
I hope to work with students Kindergarten through 4th grade that are struggling with decoding and phonics. I will use assessments to figure out where they are in the progression of reading skills and what skills they need in order to be successful. Hope to hear from you!
