About Ashlen
I am a 37-year-old teacher living in Florida. I have two school-aged children of my own, and teaching kids is my passion. We have fun in my classroom every day. Learning and growing our brains is fun! I believe that data drives instruction, so collecting data is very important to the learning process. While the data is important, it’s not the only thing that drives instruction. My students interests and desires also drive my instruction. I believe in the power of strong relationships as well.

The start of our lesson includes a fun activity where I can gauge the learner’s abilities in the subject. From there, I can adjust my instruction on the topic. I will teach the skill and model it. Next, we will do an activity together, where I am collecting more data on the learner and what they have comprehended thus far. Finally the learner will do an independent activity measuring their mastery of the skill.
