I started assistant teaching preschool at my childhood Catholic school. I was lucky enough to learn under a great mentor. I was also able to do my student teaching there. I left to take a job as a lead teacher in a bilingual preschool classroom. I found the work rewarding and challenging at the same time. I planned and executed the lessons, performed home visits, worked with social workers on behavioral plans and did classroom finances. I decided to go back to school full time for my Bachelors Degree in English, I had already completed an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. At Westfield State I was in the International English Honors Society Sigma Tau Delta. I was working part time caring for some of my former preschool students. Some of my jobs in the English field have been freelance writer for the newspaper, editor for a self published novel and office manager. I would like to bring my knowledge, positive attitude and experience to tutoring.
