About Elyse
I am a qualified KS3 maths and science teacher who has taught full classrooms of students for the past 8 years in a school in Canada.
I was head of year for 4 years and received commendation from the provincial education board on my innovative and engaging teaching methods.
I provided extra tutoring and support, in order to help my students reach success in their course content.
My students grew to enjoy and even love maths and science and were motivated to reach their full potential.

I am an energetic and engaging teacher from Canada and give lessons to students in KS3, specifically for maths and science.
I deliver content with engaging and hands on activities that targets many different learning styles and I integrate real life applications, so that students are able see the relevance and application for their knowledge right away. I like to create an environment conducive to learning and build into my lessons small and achievable opportunities for success in order to build the student's confidence. I believe that self monitoring is key to successful learning and therefore structure this as a part of my lessons as well. I believe in utilising technology as a tool for learning, while teaching them how to use it responsibly.
One of my primary goals is to see that students' experience of learning as positive and fun, where they look forward it and consequently gain confident in it. I believe that being passionate about the course content myself as a teacher, and imparting that love for learning is key to achieving success as a learner.
