About Mitchell
I’m originally from New Zealand and have been living in London for the past few years. I currently work as a teaching assistant in a primary school, which I really enjoy, and have previously worked in engineering.
Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active and spending time outdoors. I’m a keen football fan, enjoy camping, walking and exploring new places, and generally like keeping busy. I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and enjoy working with young people and helping them build confidence.
I try to bring this relaxed and positive approach into my tutoring, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working things out at their own pace.

I focus on student-centred lessons that build confidence, knowledge and problem-solving skills. With a background in mechanical engineering and current experience as a teaching assistant in a primary school, I bring both strong subject knowledge and practical experience working with children and young people.
I aim to identify and bridge gaps in understanding, adapting the pace and approach to suit each student. Whether that's building confidence with the basics, working through areas they are struggling with or preparing for exams, I want students to understand why something works rather than simply memorising how to get an answer.
I can support students with Maths and Science at both primary and secondary level, drawing on my engineering background to make subjects practical and relatable. My lessons are relaxed and supportive, with the aim of helping students become more confident and independent in their learning.
