About Ewan
I am a recent graduate in Mechanical engineering from the University of Leeds and I am currently in the process of securing funding to pursue a doctorate. I have experience studying and applying maths, physics and chemistry to solve real world problems both from my degree and a year spent working in an engineering consultancy. Tutoring is new to me but I am keen to share my experience to help people who are struggling with STEM subjects or aiming to fine tune their knowledge for exams achieve their individual goals.

My teaching method is built around identifying weaknesses in the students knowledge base from the relevant syllabus and from this formulating a strategy to improve these areas using real world examples to encourage curiosity, from this a complete knowledge base can be formed so the student has a holistic understanding of all areas. This is designed to improve examination performance by allowing all questions to be tackled with equal confidence. Each subject is approached by informally assessing comprehension of the fundamental concepts initially, using this a bespoke plan is produced to teach new areas, reinforce weaknesses and instil confidence in the students comprehension to allow for optimum retention and examination performance.
