I am a first-year university student currently pursuing a degree in Property Finance and Investment, with a strong academic background that reflects consistent dedication and achievement across all levels of education. From excelling in SATs and GCSEs to achieving commendable results in A-levels and BTEC studies, I have developed a well-rounded academic foundation that supports my continued growth. In sixth form, I studied BTEC Business and Sociology, where the latter particularly enhanced my essay writing skills and ability to critically analyse complex topics—abilities I now incorporate into my approach as a tutor. At the GCSE level, I successfully studied a diverse range of subjects, including English, Maths, Geography, Combined Science, French, and Religious Studies. This varied academic experience has allowed me to build strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking, which I now use to support younger students in their academic journeys. My exposure to a broad curriculum has also deepened my understanding of different learning styles and the challenges students may face, enabling me to tailor my teaching methods to suit individual needs effectively.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is centred on helping students understand English in a way that addresses their struggles while making the learning process enjoyable and engaging. I strive to create a supportive and interactive environment where students feel comfortable expressing their difficulties and asking questions. Through personalised activities, relatable examples, and dynamic discussions, I aim to break down complex concepts and tailor lessons to each student’s unique learning style. Sessions typically last an hour, but I am flexible and can extend the lesson duration if students need additional support or wish to explore topics more deeply. My ultimate goal is to make English a subject they enjoy and feel confident in, rather than something they find daunting. As a tutor, I bring valuable experience gained from participating in workshops designed to help young students improve their understanding of GCSE and SAT English. These sessions have given me practical insights into teaching strategies that effectively support students in building essential skills, such as critical reading, essay writing, and comprehension. My lessons are designed for students aged 16 and below, covering Year 3 to Year 11.
