I use a variety of instructional methods and techniques to support student comprehension and retention. By employing critical thinking prompts, teach backs and brainstorming, I assist students in finding the "key" so that they can unlock the challenging concept in order to "make it make sense". As tutor, I focus on developing a student centered individualized plan to promote a collaborative effort to utilize tools to overcome academic road blocks. I focus on English Language including composition, grammar and essay formatting as well as close reading and analysis of literary works for students from middle school to high school.
