About Maddie
My name is Maddie, and I'm a current English Ph.D. student with a Bachelor's degree in English and Political Science. I have 2 years of experience working with students as a Writing Center consultant, and I worked as a Teaching Assistant for one semester. I find great joy in helping students grow in their writing, and I hope to provide a rewarding experience for every student in their learning process.

I tutor students from high school, undergraduate, or graduate levels. I accept both synchronous and asynchronous lessons. For synchronous sessions, students can be at any point in the writing process, from brainstorming to final revisions of an essay or story, and we will review their concerns and refine their work during the session. Alternatively, students can send me a more developed work of writing—a draft, excerpt, or final essay—that I can review and send written feedback on for the price of one session. I specialize in thesis-driven, argumentative essays in humanities disciplines, but I have experience in tutoring students across disciplines, including in STEM fields. I am also familiar with MLA, Chicago, and APA citation styles. I’m excited to work with students from all different backgrounds and disciplines to help them grow as writers in whatever space they feel most comfortable!
