About Lauren
My name is Lauren Wilkin. I'm 27 years old and I live just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I'm originally from Brooklyn, went to college at SUNY Binghamton, after which I moved to Boston and waitressed for a year before applying to graduate programs in education. I ended up attending graduate school at Boston College where I received my Master's in Secondary Education- English. Afterwards, I spent two years living in Vermont teaching at a small special needs nonprofit school, and now I am back in Somerville. I love writing, English and more than anything!

I believe in strength-oriented feedback and using your skills to achieve your highest potential. I love to teach creative writing, informatory/explanatory writing, argument writing, as well as writing to prepare for test taking or to apply for jobs and programs. I was a national-merit scholarship semi-finalist and have always been a great test taker. I've had poems, stories, and SAT passages published. I have experience teaching elementary school, middle school, high school, adults and special education. I'm willing to offer services to any type of individual!
