About Antoinette
My name is Antoinette and I'm from South Africa. I live near Port Elizabeth in a small town called Addo.
After completing my Grade 12 year I attended the Nelson Mandela University. At first I studied Psychology and obtained my Honors Degree in Psychology. I then decided to continue my studies in Education and obtained my Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Through Unisa I completed an Advanced Certificate in English and last year I completed a 120 hour TESOL certificate. I was a school teacher for 7 years and taught English First Additional Language to Grades 7-12.
It is very important to me to always be prepared for a lesson and to respect each individual. Each individual is different and come from different backgrounds. I try to connect on their level.

I use the PPP Method, presentation, production and practice. This method works best for learning a new language. I have a lot of patience and take my time in ensuring a new concept is grasped fully.
I'm proficient in English and Afrikaans.
When it comes to my teaching approach I like to tailor my approach to each individual's needs and to what works well for them.
My lessons are aimed at beginner and intermediate learners ages 5-14.
