About Christi
I’m Christi, a native English speaker based in the UK.
I’ve been teaching English and writing for over eight years, working with students from middle school through to university, as well as adults. Alongside this, I work as a university writing tutor, supporting master’s students with their academic work.
My background is in music and philosophy, and I’m currently completing a PhD. That training has shaped how I teach. I pay a lot of attention to how ideas are structured, not just the language itself.
Over time, I’ve worked with a wide range of students, from those preparing for exams like the SAT to professionals who want to communicate more clearly at work.
I enjoy teaching because I like seeing how quickly things can change once something clicks. Often, it’s not about learning more, but understanding things in a clearer way.
Outside of teaching, I perform as a violinist across Europe, and I spend most of my free time cooking, reading, or travelling.

My lessons are practical and focused on what you actually need to improve.
If you’re preparing for the SAT, we work directly on reading and writing. That means breaking down question types, practising timing, and learning how to structure clear answers, especially for ECR and essay questions. I’ll show you exactly how to approach the test so you don’t feel stuck or overwhelmed.
For middle and high school students, I focus on building strong writing habits early. We work on sentence structure, organisation, and expressing ideas clearly, so moving into higher-level work feels more manageable.
For adults, lessons are more flexible. Some students want help with work communication, others want to feel more confident speaking. We focus on real situations and language you can actually use.
I usually keep lessons structured but straightforward. We work on one or two key areas at a time, and I give direct feedback so you know what to fix and how to improve.
