About Arshvir
Throughout my education, I consistently excelled in English, achieving an A grade at both National 5 and Higher levels in Scotland’s SQA exams. My enthusiasm for spelling, reading, and creative writing has driven me to share this knowledge with others and help them discover the joy of mastering these essential skills.
Teaching allows me to contribute to the growth of young minds, giving students the tools they need to succeed academically and express themselves with confidence. I am particularly drawn to tutoring because it offers a personalised approach to learning, where I can tailor each lesson to fit the student’s unique strengths and areas for improvement.
I want to teach because I believe that a strong foundation in English not only improves academic performance but also builds critical life skills. Whether it's improving spelling to enhance written communication, fostering a love for reading to expand knowledge or nurturing creativity through writing, my goal is to make a meaningful difference in each student’s journey.
By creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment, I ensure that students feel empowered to ask questions, explore new ideas, and develop their language skills with confidence.

As an English tutor, my approach to teaching focuses on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to the needs of each student.
My lessons are catered to primary school and high school children ages 5- 15 years old. I will run a lesson for 1 or 2 hours depending on the needs of the of the child/ how much support they need in order to achieve their learning goals!
1. Spelling: Helping students understand how words sound and how those sounds translate into letters and syllables.
Repetition and Practice: Using regular practice through spelling quizzes, interactive games, and word puzzles to reinforce learning, Contextual Learning: Teaching spelling in the context of sentences and stories to help students understand the practical usage of words.
2. Reading: Guided Reading Sessions: I offer step-by-step guidance, helping students with pronunciation and understanding meaning as they read. Comprehension Exercises: I focus on asking thought-provoking questions to ensure students not only read the text but also grasp its meaning, Reading Aloud: Encouraging students to read aloud to boost fluency and comprehension.
Building Vocabulary: Teaching new words in context, helping students expand their vocabulary while reading.
3. Creative Writing: I guide students through brainstorming techniques to generate ideas for stories, essays, and poems.
Writing Structure: Teaching the fundamentals of storytelling such as character development, plot, setting, and tone.
Feedback and Revision: Providing constructive feedback on their writing and encouraging self-editing to enhance their work.
Creative Freedom: Allowing students to explore their own ideas and encouraging them to express themselves creatively.
