About Isla

I'm Isla, a gap-year student passionate about education, environmental sustainability and social justice. I will be beginning my degree in Geography at the University of Cambridge next year.

Having received A*A*A* at A level, I have lots of academic interests and a curiosity for learning new things. I would love to be able to share this with young people, and find out more about their own interests and passions whilst helping them through their next steps in education e.g. GCSEs, A levels.
The responsibility of being a mentor/tutor to a younger students is not something that I take lightly. I have worked as a football coach for the past 2 years and this has ignited my interest in teaching/education -a sector that I would consider exploring in the future as a career.

I also have an in-date enhanced DBS check which I would be happy to share.

Please let me know if you have any questions as I would be happy to chat to you about this further :)

Having received an A* in A level Geography and a 9 in GCSE Geography, I am confident that I will be able to use my recent academic experiences to provide high-quality and effective tutoring. I am happy to help with GCSE and A level prep/revision, as well as Geography A level coursework (NEA).

I believe the best way to do well in geography is to strive to understand the logic behind it, and therefore when tutoring I will aim to do exactly this - rather than focusing only on short-term memorisation. Geography is so applicable to the 'real world' and such an exciting and relevant subject to study. In my tutoring sessions, I hope to share my curiosity with my students by engaging with current issues in the context of the syllabus to make it more memorable and interesting. Most importantly, I will foster my student's confidence in their own ability (which they often underestimate) by getting to know their interests, strengths and weaknesses in a friendly and enthusiastic way.

My lesson will be 1 hour in length and I am flexible to work around your schedule, and adapt session plans and length to your needs.

Please get in contact if you have any questions or fancy chatting more about this :)
