About Emma
My first lesson is free and will consist of going over all foundation topics before building up to, and perhaps above, the current key stage level of my student(s) to gauge confidence and ability. This will provide me with a basis in which I can create a unique learning plan to improve their skills and understanding, and to highlight any topics that each student specifically struggles with. I will provide feedback after each session along with setting homework if desired.

I have previous experience in both a high-demand tuition centre in Bristol (assisting with Maths & English ages 4-14 with groups of up to 6 students at a time) as well as at-home sessions (teaching Maths one-to-one with students aged 10-15). I have a recent DBS certificate and a full clean UK driving licence.
I would recommend single tutoring over a group setting as the teaching is focussed solely on the requirements of the individual student - everyone learns at different paces and it is important to completely understand the founding concepts before rushing ahead to more difficult topics.
I am currently in my final year of university completing my bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning and will be looking to complete PGCE (teacher training qualification) next year. My degree requires a competent ability in applicable Maths as well as important literary skills. Having done Maths and Further Maths for A Level (alongside German and Drama), I adore sharing my enthusiasm and increasing the confidence of our future mathematicians! I attended a grammar school from Year 7 therefore I am also very familiar with the 11+ and specific methods for tackling these sorts of problems.
