I had the pleasure of working with James as a fellow teacher in the same school for about 10 years with students that came from all around the world. James is an extremely gifted instructor who is knowledgeable and adept at teaching all facets of the English language. He is passionate about teaching English and loves teaching it. Students have many, many times told me about their improvement after taking James’ classes. Even though there were many good teachers at the school, I knew that any student who studied under him was going to be well-prepared and in a much better position to succeed in my classes. Having worked with James and having witnessed his teaching for many years, I cannot say enough about his teaching. Students come out of his class with complete understanding of the language. Also, he is a person whose integrity is unquestionable.

As a former colleague of James at ELS Boston, I can wholeheartedly recommend him as an ESL teacher/tutor. His students loved him because of his sense of humor and down to earth personality. In fact, one student in his last session at the school told me he wanted to switch out of my class because it coincided with James’ and he wanted to have one more class with James before he left the school. I couldn’t fault him! I also witnessed James working tirelessly during lunch and after school correcting essays so that he could give his students’ work the attention it deserved.
