About Georgia
My name is Georgia and I am a native English speaker. I am married with children and living in the GTA. I conduct lessons regularly and passionately, as it is my career.
I have been an online ESL/English teacher since 2008. Accordingly, I have learned a lot about the culture of many countries through my clients’ and students’ homework and conversations.
I have 16 years experience in teaching ESL classes and preparing students for English exams (IELTS/TOEFL/TOEIC etc). I have also been an official scorer of the IELTS test, and have written and published a TOEFL study book for a private school. I taught the TOEFL intermediate and advanced classes in a Canadian language institute, and have also had 4 years experience scoring the provincial exams taken by elementary and high school students. I like to teach students in an organized fashion, and I like to develop quality relationships with them, a few become friends and remain in contact for years.
I have taught overseas in South Korea (2 years), and have traveled to Japan (within those two years), and regularly teach students from such countries as Brazil, China, Korea, Japan, Russia, and Germany among many others.
My experience includes both classroom and online teaching. I prepare individuals to speak, write, and give presentations in English. I work with beginners, intermediates and advanced students from all over the world. I have access to a lot of materials which I share with students, and I have a style of teaching that I think is quite beneficial for learners.

My teaching methodology includes the use of audio-visual equipment to enhance the interactivity of classes. Materials are always provided, and/or researched, and lesson notes (with homework) are always distributed to students after class. Since classes are developed based on the needs of the student, an assessment is always conducted before lesson plans are created. I work in an organized and orderly fashion in order to create a foundation for the student, and a process which can be followed easily. Regular feedback is also provided to help with a student's progress.
