About Yair
As an experienced teacher, I have been teaching science at Village Colleges since September 2002.
When teaching I try to stimulate the students’ interest and excitement in science, whilst at the same time maintaining a high and challenging standard of academic learning. Being aware of students’ varying abilities, I try to challenge every student individually to their best ability.
Before becoming a teacher I acquired a PhD in Biochemistry and worked for eight years as a research scientist at top level academic institutions as well as the pharmaceutical industry. This experience helps me as a teacher of science as it enables me to keep up to date with the latest scientific advances. Overall, my experience as a scientist strengthens my subject knowledge, teaching skills, productivity and presentation.

As part of my teaching, I use cover the required material from the syllabus, using exam questions to ensure the students are familiar with the exam questions. I’ll use models and analogies to explain challenging concepts. I use many original resources, such as clips from movies, interactive presentations, role play, games and worksheets.
