About Grace

I am a classical mezzo-soprano, with experience both in solo and choral settings, offering lessons in interpretation, technique as well as training for ABRSM grades. I am of Diploma level standard, having studied under Antonia Sotgiu at the Junior Programme of the Royal Northern College of Music since 2019. There I sang for their Vocal Ensemble and in a close harmony group that performed at many events in the College. I have extensive experience singing chorally, having been in the Birkenhead School Chapel Choir and Chamber Choir since 2014.

I have the unique perspective of what it's like to be a neurodivergent student, being diagnosed with ADHD and ASD earlier this year. I know the frustrations of learning and aim to release the potential in any student!

About the lesson

I believe that the best music lessons come from fulfilling the specific desire that the student has. I like to start all my teaching by asking what they want from being a musician, which I find tends to lead to productive and moreover, enjoyable lessons! My lessons would be tailored to each individual student and their goals. I offer lessons both focused on development as a singer and also focused on achieving ABRSM grades. Message me to find out more. I would primarily be able to coach higher voices, as I am a Soprano, from a beginner to intermediate standard

Grace was a great teacher, I came to get guidance on doing open mics and live performances, which she had lots of experience in. As well as giving great singing guidance, she also really reassured me about singing my own work. My style is folk (think Laura Marling) and Grace was perfect for this, super knowledgeable and helped me work through some lyric and technical issues I had with my songs. I really enjoyed our sessions (I've had 3) and I will definitely go to Grace again, she was so lovely! Couldn't recommend her enough.
