About Aidan
I am a qualified maths teacher with experience as a head of department in a large grammar school. I have worked as a lead practitioner in a large non-selective school and also now lead an organisation supporting teachers to improve their classroom practice. I am a senior leader within a large trust of schools, leading specifically on mathematics. I love education, I love maths and I love teaching but most of all I do this because I believe in the importance of what education can do for people.

As a secondary mastery specialist with experience of primary maths right up to undergraduate I make careful choices in my approach to teaching all mathematics ensuring it is coherent. I use the concrete, pictorial, abstract approach to developing a deeper understanding of mathematics. I have been a head of mathematics and a senior lead for maths across multiple schools within a trust. I currently lead an organisation to advise teachers on how to develop their maths pedagogy. I usually teach 60-90 minute lessons online or face to face. I have an undergraduate degree in mathematics, am an accredited NCETM (national centre for excellence in teaching mathematics) secondary mastery specialist, I have a PGCE in mathematics and design and consult for a number of publishers and schools on their curriculum. Maths anxiety is real - I work with you to build your confidence and where confidence exists I look to stretch and challenge to ensure you are learning at your peak.
