About Rachel
I have excellent written and oral communication skills and have ample experience helping others with a variety of English language and writing tasks. I have been tutoring students of all ages (K-adult) in English literacy since 2010, assisting young people and adults (Elementary school - Higher Ed) in academic writing since 2006, and creating beautiful, effective resumes for others since 2013.

I am a very patient teacher, explain myself clearly and thoughtfully, and offer feedback kindly. I tailor lessons and feedback to each individual student, where they are, and their style of learning. I am always open to and grateful of feedback myself.
For resumes and cover letters, I believe in simple, clean design in order to most effectively communicate and highlight your qualifications. Too flashy and complicated communicates style over substance. Similarly with academic writing - it has to sound like YOUR voice, not mine. It's my job to bring that out by helping to make your writing tighter and clearer, but still very much yours.
I welcome all students looking for English literacy lessons as well, and am very well versed in teaching spelling, phonics, reading comprehension, phonological awareness, composition, and vocabulary.
