About Holly
I love teaching math and helping students see that they can do math! I have experienced my own struggles with math and I know how to help students overcome those challenges. I understand math is difficult and that it doesn't come easily to many students.
I am patient and understanding and have a gift for explaining concepts in multiple ways. I have taught all grades from 6-12 and love my students!

I believe all students can learn and do math. I have had my own struggles with math and I know where students get stuck because I also got stuck in those places with similar concepts.
I have the knowledge and tools to teach concepts in various ways and can explain math in multiple ways so every student can understand. I also like to make my teaching relevant and create lessons that include student interests.
A typical lesson plan includes a short review of concepts previously covered before going into something new. I excel at asking questions that elicit student thinking so students are not just listening to me teach. The more self-thinking students do, the better they will learn the concepts being taught.
Most of my experience has been teaching middle school and high school students pre-algebra and Algebra 1 skills.
