About Taylor
My tutoring career began in 2012, working with middle and high school students in an after school program. Since then, I have worked with elementary, middle, high school and college students. I have experience working in private, charter, and public schools, where I have taught Geometry, Algebra, SAT test prep, ACT test prep, and general 6th and 7th grade math.
In addition to teaching, I have coached cross country and led a cooking club. In my free time, I work at a local urban farm where I feed goats and chickens, grow fruits and veggies, and educate kids and adults about the farm's plants and animals.

I am a student-focused tutor and I tailor my lessons to individual student needs. For students with attention issues, I may break the session into 10- or 15-minute segments to avoid getting bored or tuned out. My lessons are a mixture of collaborative practice, independent problem solving, study skill practice, and brain breaks in the form of math games and interactive energy-boosters because I believe that fun is an important part of learning that sticks.
I work with students of all ages, specializing in middle school through college. Students who thrive with patient, 1-on-1 support will enjoy working with me most.

Details
My fees include help with any work the student may have and printed worksheets for practice and extension work. I provide workbooks if the student is not currently enrolled in a course with specific materials outside of tutoring.
For tutoring outside of client homes, I cover finding and booking a convenient location for the client, with the goal of maximizing ease. My travel fee only applies for travel over 15 minutes from my home or other work location, and I am happy to plan with you individually to minimize costs.
