About Michael

Hey! Thank You for taking the time to learn more about what I do.

I have been teaching music for myself and in various schools around Montreal since 2003 and have been playing since 1997. I hold a college degree in music studies from Vanier and a Bachelors in Music from Concordia University, along with certificates in Rock, Blues, Arrangement and Music Theory from Berklee College of Music.

I have also had the pleasure of gigging and performing live in many bands along with writing and recording original music and playing on other peoples sessions.

That about sums it up! Looking forward to working with you!

About the lesson

After working with hundreds of students over the last 15 years I have taken on an individualistic approach in my lessons. Every student, no matter what age absorbs and understands material differently from one an other. I will make sure that your lessons are tailored to your needs, level of experience, interests and will guide you in the direction you want to move toward. To me this is the best way to convey information and most importantly keep the lessons fun and engaging.

(Proficient in English and French)

Perfect! I have recently started learning guitar from Michael and it has been a really great experience. He is clearly a very talented musician, and an excellent teacher -- patient, supportive, and clear. He explains things in a way that makes them easy to grasp and remember, tailors the lessons to where I am at, and provides between-session exercises to help me improve. I would definitely recommend him!

I highly recommend Mike. He was my guitar/theory teacher and is by far one of my favourite instructors of all time. He is a skilled musician and also knows how to pass on information according to your needs, which to me is what makes him an ideal instructor.

He is down to earth, approachable, and versatile. He takes full advantage of each lesson without overwhelming you, and has even helped me with an original composition. Thanks to Mike, I've made a career in music and am confident playing my instrument.
