About Christopher
I began work as a violinist in the ABC Sinfonia, Elizabethan and Sydney Opera House and Sydney Philharmonia Orchestras. Mid career I worked as a high school music teacher and have taught guitar, which I played in a rock band on in my early years, as well as violin and piano in private studios and schools.

I believe learning to read is an important foundation when combined with practical theory of either Classical or Jazz variety. This provides a basis for more advanced skills such as memorisation, composing, arranging and improvisation. I believe in studying as variety of styles including in particular popular, jazz and classical. Technique can be developed and explored in the context of evolving interests.
